Chongwe River Camp      
Lower Zambezi National Park

 

Chongwe River Camp is situated on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, directly opposite Mana Pools.

The Chongwe River is the boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park, a four thousand square kilometre pristine sanctuary, teeming with game, and said to be one of the continent's most picturesque wilderness areas.

 

One does not have to even leave the camp to see and hear a wide variety of wildlife. Relaxing in the sitting out area over looking the river, one can see a constant procession of game coming down to drink as well as over 250 species of birds.

  

 

Activities include game drives, including night drives in the National Park or along the Chongwe River, walking safaris, cruising, fishing and canoeing.

 

 

The Albida Suite
Custom designed tents and organic ferro walling interspersed with natural wood. The two rooms share a lounge and dining area appointed with fine furniture and antiques that over look a private pool and the Zambezi.

 

Bushbuck Camp is a seasonal Bush Camp for the guest seeking the more vintage Safari experience. Whilst every comfort is catered for with Maluti tents with twin or double beds, flush toilet and hot bucket showers, the camp is truly rustic but comfortable.

Lit only by hurricane lamps there is no generator or engines. Situated on a 60 foot cliff overlooking a bend on the Chongwe River near the idyllic Chongwe Water Fall which tumbles out of the Muchinga escarpment. It is these mountains that the walks from Bushbuck take place.
